Visionaries come and go, but the work of Denis Villenueve feels like the work of generational talent. Whether it’s in his transformative production value, whisking us away to these worlds where the laws of physics and gravity are redefined, or the intelligence in material, which continuously pushes the envelope, Denis is very much one of my favorite filmmakers going today, and one who always has me excited for what he will do next. Dang, I didn’t even know that some of these existed. Anything before 2012 I’ve never heard of, but I’ll definitely seek them out since I love Denis Villenueve. I want to revisit Blade Runner 2049 soon, because I originally found it to just be okay. Strong ranking!
