Darren Aronofsky carefully chooses his projects. So much so that he’s only made seven films in three decades, but has triumphed nonetheless with some of the more memorably polarizing films to date. To me, he’s a metaphorical genius with deeper social commentary underneath the surface. To someone else, he could just be that guy responsible for the wildest birth sequence ever put to film.
